Mini Flowers Prints
A collection of reduction-print flowers.
This artwork came about from an idea of wanting to develop my reduction print technique. It was then carefully created, one flower at a time...
I illustrated each flower on paper, carved the first layer (the background layer) out of a lino block, mixed the desired colours, then inked the block up and printed it onto natural Lokta paper. I then carved back into the blocks for the second layer (the detail layer), mixed the colours for the second layer of ink, applied ink to the carved block, and transferred the ink onto the paper for a second time. I then did this full process for each print, creating a collection of 16 flowers.
